Happy Friday to you! Or whatever day of the week I’m finding you… Nothing says summer like Lemonade, nothing says summer F U N quite like Limeade. Today , Cassidy and I bring to you a simple recipe for you and yours to enjoy for the rest of your summer days. It’s simple, sweet, and a real crowd pleaser.   Drumroll please… Ingredients: 4-5 Limes (1C squeezed) 1-3t stevia powder Water/Ice cubes Herbs for garnish Directions: Add juice to 1 Quart water, stir in 1t stevia, add another teaspoon if you prefer. Sweet Potato Protein Smoothie

  It’s Fall! Which means an excuse to eat even MORE sweet potatoes. Since I don’t eat grains, finding an acceptable starch is always a pleasure. Mother Nature has it right by providing us with this tubor. These little guys pack a whopping 377% of our daily  Vitamin A requirement! This is also my inaugural smoothie post with our new Blendtec! We did our research between it and a Vitamix. I must say Blendtec sold us (plus it was a few hundred dollars less!). Either of these fine machines will obliterate anything you put in it. For the last six months I have been on a MAJOR kombucha kick. Thanks to Dietitian Cassie, I’ve been sold on the countless benefits of this addicting tonic. Its claim to fame is its rich source of probiotic. Newsflash! “The road to health is paved with good intestines!” ― Sherry A. Rogers I gladly “treat” my gut daily with this fizzy drink. However, at $4 a pop, it’s a pricey addiction. Case in point, I started to make my own! Making your self costs about five cents a bottle!! It takes about 30-45 minutes to brew a batch and it takes a minimum of seven days to ferment until you can add flavor and drink. It has become part of my weekly routine. Detox Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic

One of my morning routines is drinking my ACV Tonic. It’s good for the liver, it’s good for the metabolism, and it revs up my digestive track to properly digest food for the day. If you’re like my husband, the words “Apple Cider Vinegar” make you gag. Personally, I think it tastes find. Take heart all you easy reflux folk, the raw honey cuts the bitterness and makes this a pleasant drink. Detox Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic 1 Tsp. Raw Apple Cider Vinegar 1 Tsp.
