I guess “Friendsgiving” has been a thing for a while now. This year we finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. I mean what’s better than a second Thanksgiving dinner, friends, and games? As you will notice, we happened to pull this off two weeks before Christmas – (AFTER TURKEY DAY) but there’s no rules, right? TIP #1: NO RULES.  Do whatever is comfortable and do what is “you”! Confession, I’ve been swept off my feet by a most deliciously inspiring cookbook by Gwyneth Paltrow, It’s All Good. Buy it, savor it, make all the recipes! A new goal is to cook through the whole book and share my modification with Y O U. Today, I bring to you It’s All Good inspired, Mango Avocado Balsamic Salad. Just a warning…these fat bombs, are like, THE BOMB. You will be happy to know that eating them…will not make you fat. If you have not caught on yet, good fats are necessary – yes – crucial! Not only for losing weight but putting the “satiety brake” naturally when you eat.   Have you ever felt totally out of control when you start to eat. It’s like anything edible is going down the hatch, and anything “un-edible” is up for debate. Apple Spice Muffins

            My sweet sister came over yesterday for our weekly date. She walked in with a bag full of apples the size of me and some home made apple sauce in hand. Conclusion? What else, but start brewing a batch of applesauce myself and bake some Spiced Apple Muffins! Thanks to Wellness Mama we followed this super easy recipe. Grain, refined sugar, and dairy free of course! Sweet Potato Protein Smoothie

  It’s Fall! Which means an excuse to eat even MORE sweet potatoes. Since I don’t eat grains, finding an acceptable starch is always a pleasure. Mother Nature has it right by providing us with this tubor. These little guys pack a whopping 377% of our daily  Vitamin A requirement! This is also my inaugural smoothie post with our new Blendtec! We did our research between it and a Vitamix. I must say Blendtec sold us (plus it was a few hundred dollars less!). Either of these fine machines will obliterate anything you put in it.
